2024 marks KIDS Center’s 30th year serving Central Oregon. Built by the community, for the community, KIDS Center changed our region’s response to child abuse. Thanks to the hard work, dedication and generosity of many individuals, organizations and businesses, the dream of a children’s advocacy center became a reality in 1994. Since opening our doors, KIDS Center has helped more than 17,000 children and families who have experienced abuse. We’ve also trained more than 16,000 adults in our region to identify, report and prevent abuse.

Announcing our Healing Garden
As we celebrate 30 years of hope and healing, KIDS Center is establishing a Healing Garden to honor the thousands of child abuse survivors in our community. The Healing Garden will burst into bloom in spring and greet visitors to KIDS Center with an inspiring display of beauty and resilience. We’re starting Phase 1 of our Healing Garden this fall. Here are three ways you can get involved!
Join us for Planting Day
Saturday, October 19, 2024
9 am-Noon
KIDS Center, 1375 NW Kingston Ave., Bend
On Planting Day, stop by KIDS Center and plant a daffodil bulb in honor of a survivor you know. All ages are welcome. Come dressed for dirt!
Volunteer as a Garden Caretaker
If you have a green thumb and love the idea of gardening to give back, volunteer as a garden caretaker! Give a few hours a month (during the growing months of April-September) to tend the Healing Garden. Interested? Email volunteer@kidscenter.org for details.
Give to the Healing Garden Fund
Give $5, $10 or $15 to help purchase 500 daffodil bulbs for our first planting! Funds will also help secure garden soil, mulch and perennials to create a beautiful, enduring display.
